Top Positive Review

Two people at Berkley Need Slapped. 1. The person that decided which screws to include for install and 2. The person that agreed. The rack itself is great but the 4 screws included are awful. First off, they are flat head. Flat head..? Who uses flat heads anymore? Terrible decision there. They’re also only 5/8″ long.. The mount point for the screws is 1/8″ thick.. 99% of drywall is 1/2″ thick.. You know what 1/8″ + 1/2″ equals?? Hmmm? You are correct.. 5/8″. The included screws don’t even reach the studs in the wall. Do you see the issue here? Placing rods and pulling them out of these brackets.. How long do you think till the rack falls off the wall and the expensive rods you have placed in it come falling to the ground like you just lost a 10lb bass at the boat and spiked your rod out of frustration.. Okay. Maybe not that hard but you know what I’m saying. Not sure about you but I wouldn’t trust these tiny screws in drywall to hold my collective $1000+ rods and reels no drywall anchors included which is okay cause the screw holes are 16″ apart.. Which most framed walls will allow you to mount to the studs.. If only the screws are long enough. Anyways rant over. I replaced the screws with 1-1/4″ drywall screws and it works great. I’m not worried about my rods falling off the wall and the rods are now organized and off the ground. If anyone from Berkley is reading this.. The wall mount rack is great, especially for the price. But still.. Slap those two people I mentioned before.

I purchased this after owning two of the Rapala rod holders because it was “cheaper” ….. well it is indeed “cheaper” in every sense of the word. The foam is difficult to navigate and eventually falls out….. I have ordered another of the Rapala rod holders and recommend you do the same ( in my photo the far right holder shows the foam missing where it fell out)
