Like a dummy I lost a pair of terrific Browning pliers with the carbide side cutters. They were stainless, well under $100 and served me well for better than 6 years. I was particularly impressed with how easy it was to order replacement cutter blades. This tool reminds me of those…simple with a long reach for a deeply hooked dinner. They’re not light which I appreciate. The twisting, prying, yanking, etc that pliers go thru is well worth a couple extra ounces. I can’t speak to the rust resistance but everything coming off the beach gets the hose and a quick spray of WD so it’s not really a concern. The cutters have already done their job with a dozen trims of J-Braid so they’re working as advertised. I’m going to reach out to the supplier and see if I have to jump thru hoops for an extra set of cutters. Do I want to cut a hook with these…absolutely not. BUT, things happen and if these pliers are what I have to extract an embedded hook then it’s batter up. I’d like to be able to twist a couple of screws, put in new blades and go on about my business.

I’m quite disappointed. I have big hands and thought these would be a good fit. The grips don’t fit the my hand well. the cutter has a relatively big gap and can easily miss the cut. still considering returning. The $7 pair i got from bass pro are small but very well designed.

Do these have a none slip grip for when your hand are wet so they don??t slide around in your hand ?
Answer: They do not the grip is just plain metal, at least on the straight ones. I am not sure about the curved ones

How far does the coiled lanyard stretch when you pull on the pliers?

are these pliers rust proof?
Answer: I have had these for a few weeks now. They are made of stainless steel so they should rust proof. I would rinse them when done with fresh water to prolong the life of the pliers.
